Turin Hurling Club is located in Co Westmeath along the N52 between Mullingar and Delvin. Our catchment area is mainly rural and children who play with the club attend a range of different primary schools both rural and urban.
We are a family and community GAA club with the same members of families playing on underage and adult teams, training underage and adult teams and involved with the running of the club. We have a strong emphasis on player retention in the club through to adult level and all coaches put effort on all players getting to play at all ages levels from under 8 up to minor.
Turin field adult teams at Intermediate and Junior level.
We field underage teams from under 8 up to minor. We have enjoyed recent success at Under 14, 12 and Under 10 level and our aim is to bring this success up through the club.
Our underage teams from U12 up to minor are currently fielding as Na Piarsaigh, which is an amalgamation of ourselves and LLG.
We have a dedicated nursery section for the beginners and Under 6 players in the club, focusing on fun activities and fundamentals movement skills and we were one of the first hurling clubs in the county to run this.
We have excellent training facilities including a double sided floodlit hurling wall and astro-turf facility which is used for teams to train on and our under 6 nursery section have their sessions there.
We also make use of the local Turin hall and Killucan hall for adult training and for underage indoor training at the beginning of the year.
Turin Community Development are currently undertaking to develop a community hall at the pitch for use by the whole community.
