Mullingar St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations 2018

This year’s festivities take place in Market Square between 1.30pm – 5pm.

Please note that mount Street will be closed from 1pm – 6pm from Wallace’s Pub up to Market Square.

It kicks off at 1:30pm with an opening performance not to be missed by the St Patrick's Dayamazingly talented Michaela Hogg. Keeping the momentum going will be the fabulous dancers from the Fiona Gallagher School of Irish Dancing and, you’ll be more than impressed with their energetic display of traditional Irish dance! Also performing will be the truly talented Fox family & co., musicians of such a calibre that Mullingar is proud to call them our own. With no sign of slowing down, singer/songwriter and long-time member of the Foster & Allen band Ollie Kennedy takes to the stage to keep everyone on their toes! Also performing are the simply superb duo, the Celtic Blondes as the afternoon moves into the evening. Followed by the wonderful Lir Academy Ukelele Band as well as the deliciously divine Mullingar Harpists. Bringing the fabulous celebration of all that is great about Mullingar to an end, the very popular acoustic duo, 21 Under will close off our Market Square musical event. They promise to be a big hit!

Keeping the little ones entertained, there will be face painting and balloon twisting. Don’t forget the ‘Dress as St.Patrick’ themed competition for both adults and children. Judging is at 3pm with all prizes kindly sponsored by Wallace Waste.

This musical celebration could not happen without generous sponsorship from Buckleys Supervalu, Fagan’s Office Supplies, David O’Malley, Grange Motors, Canton Casey’s, Nooney & Dowdall, Con’s, The Chambers, The Old Stand, J Wallace, Smiddy’s, Annebrook Hotel, Dolan’s, Kerrigan’s, Gilleran’s and the Newbury Hotel.

Also, this event would not have been at all easy to coordinate without the many wonderful supporters – Westmeath County Council, Mullingar Arts Centre, Market House, Bill Collentine & Mullingar Tidy Towns, Civil Defence and, Mullingar Garda Síochána. The Mullingar St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations Committee look forward to seeing everyone at Market Square and on Mount Street for what promises to be a great afternoon of Mullingar entertainment (weather permitting).
